Troopers from the MSP Sault Ste. Marie Post responded to an in-progress home invasion during the evening hours on Sunday, October 10. At approximately 7:50pm, troopers were dispatched to a residence in the village of Newberry for a report of an individual who had entered a residence occupied by the homeowner. An altercation ensued between the intruder and the homeowner at which time the intruder fled the scene. Troopers were able to locate the suspect at a local hospital after the person sought treatment for wounds inflicted during the home invasion. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested on charges of home invasion 1st degree and lodged at the Luce County Jail. The name of the arrested subject will not be released until arraignment.
