Friday Afternoon, Troopers from the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post were called to the scene of a snowmobile crash on Trail #8 near Riley Road in Munising Township. A 43-year-old man from Taylor, MI was traveling with a group of snowmobilers when he left the trail and struck a tree. The victim was transported to Munising Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries. Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.

Troopers were assisted by the Alger County EMS, Alger County Rescue, and Wilderness Towing.
