Wrestling programs from across the state of Michigan have seen their numbers dwindle this season due to the covid pandemic over the past two seasons. Some parents don’t want their children wrestling, some high schools shut the wrestling programs down a year ago or started their season late, while other schools across the state cancelled transportation for their wrestlers making it impossible for them to compete during road competitions. The Munising youth wrestling program has also suffered during the covid pandemic losing athletes to basketball and hockey.  Alger County wrestling coaches Josh Trader and Joe Dolaskie are hoping to build the Munising Wrestling programs back up again. Coach Josh Trader will be holding a wrestling youth clinic from 5:30pm-7:30pm Mondays & Wednesday’s starting February 22nd, while Mustang Coach Joe Dolaskie will be holding a wrestling clinic for 5th-8th graders Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 3-4:30 starting March 7th.
